Capital University Paves the Way for Future Entrepreneurs… 9 Student-Led Companies at the Heart of the African Scene at “Cairo 2026”

Capital University did not merely participate in the events of the 12th African University Games “Cairo 2026”; rather, it introduced a unique model of engagement— a model that places student innovation and entrepreneurship at the heart of the university community, giving those with ideas and projects the opportunity to move beyond the confines of the campus to venues that bring together students, entrepreneurs, and educational institutions from across Africa.
During the innovation and entrepreneurship events accompanying the Games, hosted by the British University in Egypt, the Capital University participated through nine startups and student projects: CHANGER-Tech, BioSpark, BioSilkNova, Nabd Misr, Rehla, SITX, SIA Dynamics, Hydrogena, and Tagmeaa.
The participation was sponsored by prof. El-Sayed Qandil, President of Capital University; prof. Noha Nabil, Advisor to the University President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; andprof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Science; and was supervised by Dr. Ehab Abdel Raouf, Director of the Technology Incubators Office and Academic Supervisor of the Rally – Capital University initiative.

The participation of the nine teams “incubated by biocluster, one of the technology incubators in the Intilaq Program of the Academy of Scientific Research,” " a practical experience for university students to present their ideas, products, and prototypes to a diverse audience of students, university delegations, entrepreneurs, and specialists in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Their participation coincided with the African Scientific Conference on University Sports “Cairo 2026,” attended by prof. Abdelaziz Qanswa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture; Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, President of the British University in Egypt; prof Ashraf Sobhi, President of the African University Sports Federation (FASU); Mr. Leonz Eder, President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU); as well as a number of university presidents, leaders of educational and sports institutions, academics, and representatives of universities and sports federations from various African countries.

The university’s participation extended to the training aspect through the organization of the “Business Analysis for Tech Startups” training program, which focused on helping participants understand user and market problems and needs, and analyze opportunities related to technological solutions.
The Capital University booth showcased another facet of the university’s presence at international events; in addition to athletic and academic competitions, students were able to represent the university through innovative, scalable projects and connect with entrepreneurial communities outside Egypt.
This participation is part of Rally – Capital University’s role in supporting students with ideas and projects, connecting them to training programs, competitions, incubators, and expertise that help them develop their projects and take them to more advanced stages.
This experience underscores that supporting entrepreneurship within the university goes beyond providing training or organizing events; it extends to creating real opportunities for students to showcase what they have built, receive feedback from outside their usual circles, and discover new markets, communities, and experiences
