About the program

International Education Management (INEMA) is a joint  master program  of the Ludwigsburg University of Education, Germany, and Helwan University, Egypt. The program is designed to provide and develop managerial and leadership skills as well as cross-cultural ccompetencies in education management and for international reform processes in education.

The program is conceptualized as an extra-occupational master study program based on a modern student-oriented teaching/learning design to meet the requirements of students balancing their job and learning needs and career perspectives.

INEMA program aims to provide competencies for taking leadership positions in organizations in the educational realm. It also aims to equip participants with the tools necessary to deal with cross-cultural challenges in the field of international education management. It covers strategies and operational know-how to realize visions and abilities needed to lead teams and staff to specific goals and organizational development. It enables participants to take responsibility, to adopt innovative ideas for modern education processes, set up strategies and structures as well as implement quality development.

The content of the program which is the first of its kind in Egypt has been designed to meet the needs of the participating students. Knowledge is transferred into practical competencies by incorporating real-world work problems into classroom discussions, allowing participants to reflect new knowledge in their educational fields or administrative practices.

The program is accredited in Germany as well as in Egypt. Graduates receive a joint master's degree. In view of the international orientation of the program, courses are tailored to the globalization of markets and the needs of the participating students.

INEMA started in 2010. Many leaders and participants from over 50 countries across different continents have joined and graduated, including Egypt, Germany, France, England, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, the United States, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Latvia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Spain, Ukraine, Somalia, Venezuela, and Russia, among others.

So far, 11 cohorts have graduated, achieving significant success in the field of international education.

Program structure

The program features a blended learning design that combines e-learning with traditional lectures. INEMA program allows students to continue working during their studies in an extra-occupational manner, blending practical experience, training, and theoretical framework throughout their academic stages. Students participate in the program in lectures held in-person at the Ludwigsburg University of Education in Germany and Helwan University, Egypt and Online.

The program extends for four to six semesters, including in-person and online learning phases. The academic year begins in October of each year.

There are two stages of attendance each semester, alternating between Ludwigsburg University of Education in Germany and Helwan in the Arab Republic of Egypt (10 days for each stage of attendance at each university).

The program uses self-learning and independent study through educational modules, books, business simulations, and case studies.  Assignments and materials are provided through the program's learning management platform (MOVE). Students are supported by lecturers at all stages of self-learning.

The program puts a strong focus on transfer of experiences. This is made possible through exchanges between students, interactive transfer sessions, best practice studies, internships and project work.

Admission requirements:

Applicants must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Good command of the English language
  • Two years of professional experience
  • A relation to the education sector or development cooperation.

Scholarships

 The program offers scholarships within the grants provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Those wishing to obtain an EPOS scholarship funded by the German Academic Exchange Service must complete the enrollment requirements specified on the program’s website.

Fees per semester:

Tuition fees are € 2.200,- per semester. In addition, there are registration fees and administrative fees each semester (subject to change) for each university as follows:

Helwan University 100 euros/semester.

Ludwigsburg University of Education €189.50/semester.
