Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University, extends his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Iman Osman Gawad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Enterprise at the British University in Egypt, on her election as Vice President of the African Union of Architects (AUA) for the North Africa region.

The University President emphasized that this prestigious position is a culmination of an outstanding academic and professional career and represents a significant contribution to Egypt’s leading role in regional and international forums. It also reflects the prominent role of Egyptian architects in supporting sustainable development, community service, and fostering African collaboration.

Dr. El-Sayed Kandil expressed his pride in this achievement for Egypt, the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate, and the academic and professional architectural community. He wished Dr. Iman Osman Gawad continued success and excellence in her new role, contributing further to the architectural profession and enhancing Egypt’s status regionally and internationally.

It is worth noting that Dr. Iman Osman Gawad graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Capital University (formerly Helwan University), Department of Architecture in 1996, and earned her Master’s and PhD in Environmental Architecture from the same university in 2001 and 2009, respectively. She has served as Director of the International Students Office and worked as an academic coordinator for several international programs and educational exchanges between Capital University (formerly Helwan University) and several European universities.
