Capital University Banking Sciences Students Gain Practical Experience Through Training at Egyptian Banks and the Central Bank of Egypt 

As part of its commitment to providing students with a practice-oriented education and strengthening the connection between academic study and the needs of the labor market, Capital University has provided first-level students enrolled in the Banking Sciences Program (SBS) at the Faculty of Commerce with valuable summer training opportunities at a number of Egyptian banks, in addition to a specialized training and orientation visit to the Central Bank of Egypt.

The training aimed to provide students with early exposure to the banking sector, enabling them to gain practical experience, understand professional work environments, and become familiar with the skills and competencies required for successful careers in banking and financial services.

The training was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. El-Sayed Qandil, President of Capital University, and Professor Dr. Gamal Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Abu Zeid, Coordinator of the Banking Sciences Program (SBS), and in cooperation with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), headed by Dr. Abdelaziz Naseer, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute.

A Strategic Partnership Supporting Practical Education

The training opportunities were organized within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the Faculty of Commerce at Capital University and the Egyptian Banking Institute. The protocol supports the provision of practical training opportunities for SBS students at a number of Egyptian banks, strengthening the partnership between academic institutions and the banking sector.

Practical training represents a fundamental component of the Banking Sciences Program, as completing the required training is a mandatory graduation requirement. This ensures that students develop their professional capabilities alongside their academic knowledge throughout their university studies.

First-Hand Exposure to the Banking Sector

During their training, students participated in field visits and practical activities at several Egyptian banks. They were introduced to the day-to-day banking environment and gained insights into the roles of different departments and divisions, banking operations, and the delivery of financial products and services.

The training also enabled students to better understand the professional competencies required in the banking sector, while developing essential skills such as communication, teamwork, professional conduct, and adaptability.

As part of the program, students also visited the Central Bank of Egypt, where they were introduced to its role within the national banking system and its contribution to maintaining banking and financial stability and enhancing the efficiency of the banking sector.

The visit provided students with a broader perspective on the structure of the banking sector and the roles played by its various institutions.
