As part of Capital University’s expansion and openness strategy and its partnerships with foreign universities, Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University, announced that the Egyptian Cabinet has approved the establishment of a foreign branch at Capital University (Private), offering Spanish and American academic programs. Studies are scheduled to begin in the academic year 2026–2027.
Dr. Kandil stated that the new branch will offer programs in Medicine, Engineering, Nutrition, and Management, in line with the state’s plan to internationalize education and provide global educational systems within Egyptian universities.
He also pointed out the continuation of coordination with Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) in Greece, noting that a delegation from the university recently visited Greece to discuss the proposed model for academic cooperation and faculty exchange. Coordination is also underway with the Greek Minister of Education Sofia Zacharaki, the Deputy Minister for Higher Education Nikos Papaioannou, and university leadership.
Dr. Kandil explained that the planned Greek branch at Capital University will include programs in Physical Education, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Special Needs Treatment, and Sports Rehabilitation, emphasizing that the project represents a joint international attraction point for students wishing to study in Egypt.
Dr. Emad Abou El-Dahab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, affirmed that establishing foreign branches at Capital University represents a qualitative leap in scientific research and postgraduate studies. He noted that the new programs will open wide opportunities for international cooperation in scientific publishing and joint research projects.
Abou El-Dahab added that through these partnerships, the university aims to qualify cadres capable of global competitiveness, while providing a modern educational environment that supports innovation and the development of scientific solutions to societal challenges. He also emphasized that coordination with European and American universities will include student and faculty exchange programs, ensuring the transfer of expertise and knowledge, and confirming that this step will position Capital University as a regional center for advanced education and scientific research.
